W/R completes confirmation of DCEs

Takoradi, August 3,-GNA- All the 13 District Assemblies in the Western Region now have substantive District Chief Executives (DCEs) following the completion of the confirmation of the President’s nominees for the assemblies.

The voting process by Assembly Members to confirm or reject these nominees, which were conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC) were generally orderly and peaceful.

The DCEs include Ms Gladys Gyapomaah Oduro; Wassa Amenfi East, Mr. Emmanuel Kwesi Ayensu; Wassa West, Mr. Martin Ackah; Jomoro. Others are Mr Philip Kwesi Nkrumah; Shama-Ahanta East metropolis, Mr. Samuel Alberto Terkyi; Wassa Amenfi East, Mr.Kingsley Ofori Asante; Aowin-Suaman and Mr. Edward Tawiah Amprofi; Mpohor-Wassa East. The rest are Mr. Appiah-Kubi Baidoo; Sefwi-Wiaso, Mr. Benjamin Armah; Bia, Mr. Asiedu Mensah Abrampah; Juaboso, Mr. Joshua Kwagya Anlimah; Nzema East, Mr. Kingsley Adjei Manu; Ahwiaso-Bekwai and Mr. Kwesi Biney; Ahanta West.

The common theme that run through their messages after their confirmation was their determination to conduct the affairs of their respective assemblies to the best of their abilities. The DCEs also mentioned health, education, and infrastructure development and peace among the people as their priority areas to accelerate development.

They appealed for cooperation from the people, including chiefs and other opinion leaders as well as politicians from other side of the political divide to enhance the success of their administration. Mr. Joseph Boahen Aidoo, Western Region Minister and Madam Sophia Horner-Sam, Deputy Regional Minister were among personalities that witnessed the voting.

They urged the DCEs to conduct the assemblies’ businesses in a manner that would boost the image of the Government and alleviate the hardships of the people.
