VOTING DAY, December 7 Is A Public Holiday

The Ministry of the Interior has declared Friday December 7, 2012, as a statutory public holiday.

This was contained in a statement issued in Accra and signed by Mr William K. Aboah, the sector Minister.

The statement, therefore, urged the general public to observe the day as such throughout the country as it marks the Farmers Day celebration.

First Friday in December every year has been set aside to mark the National Farmers Day, which is also a national holiday, however, because Ghanaians will go to the polls this year on that day, the farmers’ celebration was held earlier on November 2nd.

Voting would therefore take place throughout the country to elect a president and new 275 parliamentarians.
