Volta Youth commend Mahama’s reshuffle

PRESS RELEASE

The Volta Youth Network (VYN) wishes to congratulate His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for the bold and audacious steps taken to ensure a smooth running of his administration through the reshuffling of the Regional Ministers.

We are of the firm conviction that, this action which is symptomatic of the Acheampong and Rawlings era, will ensure that non-indigenes who serves a Regional Ministers will have a free hand to coordinate development agenda of government as opposed to indigenes who often have to overcome challenges of political squabbling generated by various tribal and chiefdom factions fighting for control and influence.

We believe, these action if extended to the District and Municipal Chief Executive positions will go a long way to deepen the One Ghana Agenda instead of the unnecessary regionalism that the present practice has created.

We wish to use this opportunity to congratulate and warmly welcome the newly appointed minister to the Volta Region, Hon. Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo on his new assignment. As a youth himself, we wish to assure him of our total support and encourage him to ensure the open door policy of governance which enabled him to successfully serve the people of Greater Accra over time.

We as the umbrella group of our Youth are ready to help him drive the peace and developmental agenda of our region including Youth empowerment which we so much thirst for.

Once more congratulations.
