Volta REGSEC to extend Alavanyo-Nkonya curfew

The Volta Regional Security Council is likely to extent the curfew hours in the Alavanyo and Nkonya Township.

The curfew period is currently from 6.00pm to 6.00am.

It was imposed following the continuous communal violence between the two towns.

On Monday, the feuding factions were summoned to a security meeting to resolve the protracted conflict.

The two sides agreed to work towards peace.

Volta Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo in an interview with XYZ News said the Security Council is considering extending the curfew despite the assurances from the feuding factions.
