Ho, April 15, GNA – A group calling itself the Volta Region Cadres Foot Soldiers Front of the NDC, on Monday described as historic, the selection of Mr John Mahama as Professor Mills’ running mate for the December election. “It is a long awaited popular decision taken in the supreme interest of the party and the good people of Ghana and a historic decision,” a statement signed by Mr Samuel Adablah, Acting Regional Secretary of the group said.
The statement said the selection of Mr Mahama, who is the Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi, put the Party before the people as more than credible to fight corruption in Ghana. It said the group was gratified by the fact that, Mr Mahama’s selection was as a “result of nationwide consultation with all stakeholders within and outside the fraternity, which would certainly enhance the chances of the NDC in the December 2008 election”.
