Volta GJA expresses solidarity with assaulted colleagues

Ho, Dec 16, GNA – The Volta Region branch of the Ghana Journalists Association has condemned the beating of some journalists at the Brong-Ahafo @50 awards ceremony at Sunyani at the weekend. It said the incident “ridicules the exemplary democracy that leaders of our country have been trumpeting for some time now.” “We entreat our colleagues not to attend any function at which their security would not be guaranteed, bearing in mind that no story is worth dying for,” the statement said.

It said it was sad that men of high repute witnessed the incident but turned blind eyes and that this ought to be condemned.
