Vehicle stealing syndicate smashed.

Two drivers Daniel Foli and Kwame Sakyi, described by the police as members of a vehicle stealing syndicate, have been granted 200,000 cedis bail each by a circuit tribunal in Accra for conspiracy to steal and stealing. The drivers, who are to reappear before the court on March 23, are alleged to have attempted to steal the brief case of one Dr. Samuel Agyiri-Mensah, a lecturer of the University of Ghana, Legon, at Teshie on February eight, this year. The prosecutor said the mother-in -law of Dr Agyiri-Mensah saw Foli enter the car and called the lecturer’s attention. When Dr Agyiri-Mensah raised an alarm, Foli, quickly picked up the brief case, entered another private car parked besides Dr Agyiri-Mensah’s car and sped off. The prosecutor said Dr Agyiri-Mensah recovered his brief case at Nungua after giving him a chase in a chartered taxi.
