Veep Ends Two-Week Asia Tour

The vice-president, Alhaji Aliu Mahama, on Sunday, returned home after a two-week business tour of some Asian countries and the United Arab Emirates. His visit took him to Dubai, India and China where he held discussions with investors on business opportunities in Ghana.

In India, a steel manufacturing company, Bushan Power and Steel Limited expressed the desire to set up a plant in Ghana to help strengthen the steel and energy industry. Whiles in China, the vice president held discussions with officials of Shenzhen Energy Group, a company assisting Ghana to increase her energy supply. He also met with officials of ZTE Company, a giant in the telecommunications infrastructure construction.

Deputy minister of trade, industry and PSI [President’s Special Initiative], Mr Kwaku Agyeman Manu who was on the trip with the vice president, briefed the media on the tour.
