Veep donates Nissan Pick-up to Laklebi Senior High School

Ho, Jan. 17, GNA – Mr. Kofi Dzamesi, Volta Regional Minister, on Wednesday presented the keys to a Nissan Pick-up donated to the Leklebi Senior High School by the Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama at a ceremony in Ho. He said the gesture was proof that the NPP government was a “listening and caring” one. Mr Dzamesi tasked the school authorities to ensure that the vehicle was maintained and serviced regularly to prolong its lifespan. Mrs Olivia Sosu, Volta Regional Director of Education, commended the Vice President for his quick response to an appeal by the school authorities and urged the government to consider the plight of other less endowed schools, which were in a similar situation. Mr Thomas Odikro, Headmaster, thanked the Vice President for the donation.

He said the school authorities made an appeal to Alhaji Mahama about a year ago about the lack of a means of transport in the school when he attended a function at Leklebi and his quick response to their appeal had been marvellous.

Mr Odikro said the school’s only wooden truck, which was donated more than 30 years ago by the Valco Fund had broken down and that the donation was God-sent.
