Use the right chemicals

Mr Yao Anthony Klokpah, Ada West District Chief Executive, has asked farmers and fishermen to use the approved chemicals in their vocations so that the food and fish they produce do not harm the public.

According to him, reliable information reaching him indicated that some farmers and fishermen were using harmful chemicals, which could have dire health implications in humans.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, he said the campaign of ‘Eat What You Grow’ for the good health of the populace was still on course, adding that, the government would always help farmers in their quest to feed the nation.

He said the district assembly would construct small irrigation projects to assist farmers to ensure all year round farming whilst storage facilities would be provided to reduce post-harvest loss.
