US Embassy introduces web-based non-immigrant visa appointment

Accra, Oct. 28, GNA – The US Embassy in Accra said on Thursday that it has a new web-based non-immigrant visa appointment scheduling system. “Applicants for non-immigrant visas can schedule their own appointments instantly on any computer with Internet access by going to our mission’s website: www.usembassy.state.gov/accra,” a statement issued by the Embassy said.

It said the web-based system is user-friendly and instructions are printed at each step in the process.

“There are immediate appointments available, and visa applicants will also be able to choose the day and time for their appointments. If applicants have an appointment date that has already been scheduled, they may use the online appointment system to reschedule an earlier date.”

The statement said from November 1, 2004, Standard Chartered Bank would no longer handle visa application and appointment scheduling, so applicants must use the online system. Visa applicants would still pay the non-refundable visa application fee at Standard Chartered Bank at Liberia Road in Accra or Harper Road in Kumasi.
