Upper West Police command battle-ready

Wa, Dec 23, GNA – The Upper West Regional Police command is to deploy personnel in the regional capital and all other vantage points in the region to ensure that criminals do not take undue advantage of the Christmas festivities to rob or cheat others. They would also make sure that drivers do not speed to cause any motor accident in the region.

Mr. George Ankobil, Regional police commander who said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Wa on Friday said the police would also collaborate with members of the Regional Road safety campaign team to bring down the high rate of road accidents often recorded at this time of the year. He said the police would go on night patrols and appealed to the public to cooperate with them in order to avoid any confrontation.

Mr. Ankobil commended the government for providing the command with more vehicles and promised that they would make maximum use of them to reduce crime in the region.
