The University for Development Studies (UDS) football team received a rousing welcome at the Kotoka International Airport after their historic triumph at the 2025 World University Football Tournament.
Led by their coaches and university officials, the victorious team arrived to cheers from family, friends, and supporters who gathered to celebrate Ghana’s newest football champions.
The players, proudly displaying their gold medals and championship trophy, were met on arrival by Ghana’s Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, who commended them for bringing honour to the nation.
UDS made history by becoming the first Ghanaian university to win the global tournament, defeating several top institutions from around the world on their way to glory.
