Upper East Police arrests two armed robbers

Bolgatanga, Jan. 14, GNA – The Police have arrested two suspected notorious armed robbers at the Garu-Tempane District of the Upper East Region.

Madi Musah Abangbego was arrested on December 26, 2004 on the Bawku-Garu road with a Toyota Carina car registered GR.9733U, while Ramani Gariba was arrested with a Red Opel Saloon car at Worikambo near Garu on December 30, 2004.

Police Chief Inspector Thomas Agbanyo, Regional Police Public Relations Officer, told newsmen in Bolgatanga that the arrests of the suspects were made possible through the help of the Kpatia Unit Committee and the Chief of Worikambo, a community near Garu. The two have since been sent to Accra, where they were suspected of committing various crimes, for further interrogation. Chief Inspector Agbanyo appealed to the people to cooperate with the Police to rid their communities of criminals.
