Unit Committee Chairman assists flood victims

Osenase (E/R), Sept 5, GNA – Over 50 persons have been rendered homeless when 10 houses at Osenase in the West Akim District were damaged by heavy rains on Saturday. Some of the houses had parts of their roofs ripped off while the walls of others collapsed.

The Apampamu Unit Committee Chairman, Mr Joseph Kwaku Ayeh, whose area was affected, has inspected the damage and donated 10 bags of cement valued at 600,000 cedis to the victims. He appealed for immediate assistance from the district assembly and humanitarian bodies for the rehabilitation the houses. Mr Ayeh appealed to the assembly to construct a storm drain along the Denso-Akwaa and Samantekum streams. 5 Sept 06
