Union donates books to school

Okumaning (E/R), March 30, GNA- The Credit Union of the University of Ghana Agricultural Research Station (UGARS) at Kade has donated a set of reading books and security lights worth of about 1.5 million cedis to the Junior Secondary and primary Schools at the station at Okumaning near Kade in the Kwaebibirem district. They include history, English, environmental studies, religious and moral education books. This is the second time that the union had donated to the school.

Presenting the items, Dr Godfried Kwaku Hotsonyame, Senior Research Officer at the Station said the gift was to assist the schools to improve upon their standards of education. Receiving the items, Mr Daniel Antiri, headteacher of UGARS Primary School, thanked the Union for its kind gesture. Mr Antiri assured the union that it would make good use of the books. He however appealed to old students of the schools, individuals and non-governmental organisations to assist the school either in cash or in kind to help maintain the high standards at the school.
