UNILEVER Workshop for artisans in Sekond-Takoradi opens.

Takoradi, Nov 02, GNA – A two-day workshop on sound business practices for artisans in Sekondi-Takoradi began in Takoradi on Wednesday with a call on small/medium scale entrepreneurs to adopt sound management practices that would enable them to play roles expected of them in the effort to revamp the national economy.

Madam Sophia Horner-Sam, Deputy Western Regional Minister who opened it, said the government had evolved measures such as training and access to credits, to support growth of the private sector and entrepreneurs must take advantage of these opportunities.

The Deputy Regional Minister said the government would continue to provide the enabling environment for business to thrive to provide employment and enhance wealth creation for the people.

Mr Andrew Quayson, Chairman of UNILEVER Ghana Foundation for Education and Development who presided, said the workshop is aimed at equipping participants with skills that would enable them to make informed decisions to manage their enterprises more efficiently.

Some 60 participants are attending the workshop organized by UNILEVER in collaboration with the University of Cape Coast School of Business. They would be taken through topics such as elements of management, business growth strategies for small/medium Scale entrepreneurs, record keeping, costing and pricing of products.
