Unemployed youth gets 12 months for stealing

Mankranso (Ash), July 12, GNA – The Mankranso Magistrate court has sentenced a 20-year-old unemployed man to 12 months in prison for stealing and possessing Indian hemp. Eric Kwame Fosu pleaded guilty.

Police Inspector Carl Michael Adjeng told the court presided over by Mr. Frank Owusu-Afriyie that on May 24 this year, the accused sneaked into the room of one Rose Mensah, stole 300,000 cedis and left the town. He said on June 8, the accused again sneaked into the room of one Lydia Owusu but was caught, handed over to the police. When he was searched Indian hemp was found on him.
