Unemployed man fined for stealing

Cape Coast, Sept 15, GNA – Alfred Kwashie, an 18 year-old unemployed man, was on Wednesday fined eight million cedis by a circuit court at Cape Coast for unlawful entry and stealing property valued at 1.6 million belonging to one madam Theresa Logoh. Kwashie, who pleaded guilty to both charges, would go to prison for five years in default.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo told the court that both Kwashie and Madam Logoh live at Adisadel Estates and that on August 28 Madam Logoh left for church but on her return found that her room had been broken into.

He said she detected five pieces of cloth, two pieces of lace material and a pair of jeans trousers were missing She reported the theft to the police and Kwashie, who had been arrested in another stealing case, confessed stealing from Madam Logoh’s room.
