Unemployed jailed for threatening to kill farmer

A 38 year old unemployed, Yaw Agyapong who assaulted and threatened to kill Madam Manu 70, of Tanoso has been jailed three years in hard labour by a Techiman Circuit Tribunal. He pleaded not guilty. Police Inspector Mary Assunta, told the tribunal chaired by Mr. Nicholas Abodakpi that Agyapong, with the intent to kill Akosua Manu threatened her with a knife.

She said six months ago, the accused warned Madam Manu not to set foot in the family house where he lived. Madam Manu complied but on April four this year at about 6.30 a.m, Madam Manu decided to visit her sister living in the family house. When she reached the entrance of the family house, the accused emerged from the house with a knife, pushed her down and threatened to kill her. Two of her sisters and one Peter Kofi Badu rushed to the scene and rescued her and the accused managed to escape but was later arrested and the knife taken from him. gri.
