Undermine your competitor and face our wrath – NDC tells aspirants

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned its Parliamentary aspirants who have been cleared to contest in the party’s upcoming primaries on November 7, to desist from undermining each other.

According to Koku Anyidoho, a deputy General Secretary of the Party, the party will not hesitate withdrawing the candidacy of any aspirant found to have breached the peace in the party.

The NDC goes to the polls on November 7 to elect its parliamentary candidates in readiness for the 2016 parliamentary election.

Some 98 parliamentary aspirants have been cleared in the Greater Accra Region to contest while 6 were disqualified with vetting of two others put on hold.

Speaking to Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM, Koku Anyidoho stated that the party remained committed to ensuring that it moves into the 2016 elections with a united front to secure victory, adding that any negative action by aspirants will not be countenanced.

“The fact that you have gone through vetting does not mean that you can’t lose your candidacy. At the end of every vetting process, candidates are made to swear that they’ll maintain peace in the party throughout their campaign leading to the election.

“We’ll not tolerate any chaos or confusion in the party. If we see any candidate or his supporters using abusive language on his competitor or record his opponent and spread it through Whatsapp that person’s candidacy will be withdrawn immediately”.
