UK nurse who had Ebola faces disciplinary hearing

A Scottish nurse who nearly died after she contracted Ebola in Sierra Leone two years ago is facing disciplinary action, charged with misconduct.

Pauline Cafferkey is accused of concealing a high temperature from medical staff on her return to the UK, before her disease developed fully.

Ms Cafferkey had been screened at the London’s Heathrow airport where her temperature was checked and she was allowed to catch her connecting flight to Glasgow.

She’s accused of failing to tell medical staff at the airport she had taken paracetamol.

If the charge is proven, she could lose her professional licence.
