Uganda Airlines will begin operating flights to Accra on 27 October 2026, using a Boeing 737-800 on a new four-times-weekly route that will connect Ghana with East Africa.
The Entebbe-based airline will serve the Ghanaian capital via Lagos, Nigeria. The service is intended to give passengers travelling between Accra and Uganda more choice, including business travellers, tourists and families.
The route will also allow passengers to connect through Entebbe to destinations across Uganda Airlines’ wider network. Those destinations include Nairobi, London and Mumbai, as well as more than 17 locations across Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
The launch forms part of the airline’s broader effort to strengthen links between African markets and expand its presence in West Africa.
Uganda Airlines operates a mixed fleet comprising Bombardier CRJ-900 regional jets, Boeing 737-800 aircraft and Airbus A330-800neo wide-body aircraft. The Boeing 737-800 will be used for the new Accra operation.
Ghana is an important commercial gateway in West Africa, while Entebbe offers onward connections to East Africa and other destinations served by Uganda Airlines.
The additional flights are expected to give businesses greater flexibility when organising regional travel. They will also support tourism operators and improve access to commercial opportunities for companies and travellers on both sides of the continent.
The new service is also expected to complement wider continental efforts to promote trade and investment through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
