U.S based Society Donates To cape Coast Hospital

The Fante Benevolent Society, a non-profit organization based in Chicago, Illinois, donated medical equipment and supplies to the Children?s unit of Cape Coast District Hospital a fortnight ago.

The items were presented to the Hospital on behalf of the organization by Mr. John Kofie and Mr.Ben Egan, both ?ebusuapanyin? of the Fante Benevolent Society.

The items were received on behalf of the Hospital by Dr. Sampson Ekow Dadzie.

The donation, worth over 18 million cedis included weighing scales, surgical gloves, oxygen flow meters, clinical thermometers, a 14? television set and assortment of drugs.

In a short remark after presenting the items to the hospital, Mr. John Kofie said the Chicago based organization has been supporting the unit for the past three years and expressed the hope to make the donation an annual affair.

Dr. Dadzie on his part thanked the Fante Benevolent Society for its generous support over the years and urged other institutions to come to the aid of the unit since the government alone could not meet its needs.
