Two suspected armed robbers nabbed in Kumasi

Kumasi, March 18, GNA – A police team in Kumasi in the early hours of Thursday nabbed two suspected armed robbers during its routine patrols in the metropolis.

The suspects were identified as Emmanuel Osei and Kwadwo Kumi. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kwaku Ayesu Opare-Addo, Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, told reporters that the two suspects, with two others currently in hiding, were spotted driving a taxicab with registration number AS 1395 U at about 0130 hours around Buokrom F-Line.

ACP Opare-Addo said the patrol team stopped the taxi, which was being driven by Emmanuel Osei and in course of interrogation, the two others on board the taxi bolted.

He said a search on the car revealed a revolver with seven rounds of ammunition, a cutlass, jack knife and 150,000 cedis cash. Deputy Regional Police Commander gave assurance that the police would not relent in its efforts to fight crime and called on the public to play a watchdog role by providing reliable information about suspected criminals.
