Two siblings drown in river Sabon

Nkwanta Kpassa (V/R), June 16, GNA – Two siblings, aged 8 years respectively got drowned in river Sabon at Nkwanta Kpassa in the Nkwanta district at the weekend. Mr. Joy Afagbedzi, Inspector of Police in-charge of Volta Region Police Public Relations told the Ghana News Agency that the siblings, Godsway and Theodora Tandoh accompanied their mother, Debora Donkor to harvest cassava on their farm. He said after harvesting the cassava, the mother sent the children to fetch water in the river to wash the cassava but the children fell and got drowned in the river.

Mr. Afagbedzi said a third sibling who accompanied them rushed home and informed their mother. He said a search party, managed to retrieve the bodies of the deceased, which were later deposited at the Nkwanta Government Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
