Two killed by falling walls in Atwima-Nwabiagya

Nkonteng (Ash), Oct. 11, GNA – Falling walls caused by torrential rainfall has killed two people in separate incidents at Nkonteng and Esaase-Aboabo in the Atwima-Nwabiagya and Amansie West Districts, respectively.

The deceased, 50-year Opanin Kwadwo Obeng, and four-year James Kwabena Awuah were trapped under tones of debris, as the walls of the rooms in which they were sleeping fell on them. Police Superintendent Charles Kofi Adu, the Nkawie District Police Commander, confirmed this to the GNA and said the tragedy occurred on Monday evening. He said little Awuah’s mother and sister, who were together with him, sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at the Esaase Health Centre. Police Superintendent Adu said the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Toase hospital mortuary for autopsy. 11 Oct. 11
