Two galamsey operators die in a pit

Two small scale miners died when the pit in which they were working in caved-in on Tuesday at Mpohor, the Kwesimintsim District Commander of Police, Superintendent of Police Ayamga Aklogo Yakubu, has said.

The bodies of the deceased, whose names were given as Duku, 24, and Ackah, 30, had been deposited at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital at Sekondi.

He said the tragic incident occurred at exactly 1100 hours on Tuesday morning at Mpohor when they were working in the pit.
