Two communities jointly launched education fund

Ekumfi-Suprudo (C/R), Jan 08, GNA – Two farming communities, Ekumfi-Suprudo and Amisano in the Mfantseman District, have launched a 50-million-cedi Educational Endowment Fund to help promote education in the area.

Launching the fund an opinion leader of the area, Mr Ato Korsah, said that four additional classrooms have been renovated to serve as library and a resource centre that would later be stocked with reading materials, computer and Television Sets.

He expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the fund and appealed to all well wishers to also contribute generously towards it.

Mr Korsah, an estate developer, said that plans are far advance for the extension of pipe borne water from the Mankessim-Saltpond line to the communities in the area and called on the inhabitants to rekindle their communal spirit to help complete the project when it starts. An amount of 17.8 million cedis was realized.
