The Accra Regional Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two individuals in connection with the violent incidents that disrupted the parliamentary rerun in the Ablekuma North Constituency on Friday, July 11, 2025.
According to a statement released on Wednesday, July 23, and signed by Supt. Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, the suspects have been identified as 46-year-old Musah Muntari, a Station Manager at STC, and 43-year-old businessman Ali Saeed, also known as Mboma.
Both suspects are currently in custody and assisting police with investigations into reported cases of violence and assault that occurred at several polling stations during the election.
The police have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring accountability and upholding peace throughout Ghana’s electoral processes.
“We urge the public to continue cooperating with the Police and to share credible information,” the statement said. Citizens are encouraged to contact the Ghana Police Service through emergency numbers 18555 or 191.
Authorities have also reiterated their resolve to safeguard Ghana’s democracy by ensuring that electoral activities are conducted in a safe and lawful environment.
