Trust Bank donates to Otumfuo Education Fund

Kumasi, Dec 12, GNA- The Trust Bank on Friday donated 25 million cedis to the Otumfuo Education Fund.

The donation is the third to be made by the bank since the fund was established in 1999.

Mr Paul Cardoen, Managing Director of the bank, presented a cheque for the amount when he paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace, Kumasi.

Mr Cardoen said the bank had supported the Manhyia Palace in its developmental activities.

He mentioned the renovation of the King Prempeh Museum at the Manhyia Palace and the institution of the Otumfuo Gold Challenge cup.

Mr Cardoen gave the assurance that the bank would continue to make regular donations to the fund to assist needy pupils and students in education.

The Asantehene on his part thanked the bank for the gesture.

He appealed to the banks not to be interested only in dealing in treasury bills but also grant loans to other productive ventures in the country.
