Train crushes man to death at Nkrumah circle

A man believed to be in his 30s was crushed to death and his body dismembered by a moving train traveling from Kantamanto in Accra to Nsawam in the Eastern region on the night of Saturday April 20, 2013.

The victim, according to eyewitness reports, fell off the moving train as he attempted jumping to clutch onto it hurriedly at the front coach.

His grip however loose resulting in him falling right in front of the train just when it had started moving.

The victim’s brain matter gushed out of his crushed skull while his limbs, torso and entire body were totally run over and dismembered by the train on the railway line at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.

The incident attracted hordes of traders, hawkers, commuters and passers-by resulting in a gridlock.

Eyewitness say the accident was so gory that many onlookers found it very difficult to look at the dead man’s dismembered body and crushed head.

A similar accident occurred on a different portion of the same railway about six years ago.
