The police sent all 120 children, suspected to be trafficked, back to their homes in the central region, south Ghana on Saturday.
The children were rescued by the police near Cape Coast, a port town 114 kilometer southwest of here, on Friday when they were being transported to Half Asini in the western region for fishing expedition.
They were accompanied by 15 nursing mothers who claimed to have lawful custody of them.The buses which was used in transporting the children was impounded by the police and was made to send the children back home late Friday evening, the police said.
Schools in the West African country are on vacation and it is believed that the children were being transported to southwestern Ghana to engage in fishing outing.
This is reportedly the third case of suspected child trafficking in just one week with at least 170 children have been rescued.
