Accra, June 3, GNA – A 40-year-old trader, Frank Owusu who allegedly had carnal knowledge with an 18-year-old imbecile was on Friday remanded into police custody by a Circuit Court in Accra.
Owusu pleaded not guilty to carnal knowledge of a female imbecile and would reappear on June 15.
The prosecutor Police Inspector I.A.A. Ahor told the court that the complainant aged 59, lives at Dome Pillar Two in Accra with her family including the victim.
He said the accused lives in a kiosk in the same vicinity. He said at about 0800 on May 18, this year, the victim was at home whe= n the accused approached and lured her into an uncompleted building in the neighbourhood and had sex with her.
The prosecutor said some witnesses in the case saw them in the act and raised the alarm.
Inspector Ahor said many people thronged to the scene and found both the victim and accused naked, however, the victim was rescued and escorted home. The complainant therefore reported the matter to the Police while a medical form
was issued to the victim for examination and treatment. When accused was arrested, he admitted sending the victim to the uncompleted
building but denied having defiled her.
