Top NPP Lawyers to sue BNI over Wadie’s detention

XYZ News has learnt that top notch Lawyers in the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), intend to drag the Bureau of National Investigations to court with the aim of securing the release of detained party member Mr. Michael Omari Wadie.

The former Chairman Aspirant of the NPP was detained on Sunday May 27, 2013 upon arrival at the Kotoka International Airport, in connection with the circulation of a doctored nude photo of President Mahama.

Mr. Omari Wadie, who spent the night in the custody of the BNI is accused of being the first to publish the photo on his Facebook wall.

The Intelligence agencies are investigating if he is the originator of the photo which has President Mahama’s face transposed on that of a man in the picture who was caught having sex with a woman in an office.

The sleazy photo went viral on Facebook after its publication.

A group of Mr. Wadie’s Party members and Supporters who went to inquire of his whereabouts from the BNI’s head office in Accra on Monday were asked to return today, Tuesday, for further talks on his detention.
