Top NDC leadership to campaign for Bagbin

Nadowli (U/W), July 12, GNA – Professor John Evans Atta Mills, Flag Bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has assured the Minority Leader in Parliament, Mr Alban Bagbin and his constituents of the support of the leadership of the Party to ensure the electoral victory of Mr Bagbin, who is seeking re-election as a Member of Parliament for Nadowli West.

He said the Nadowli West lawmaker was doing a very good job in Parliament and the Party needed him in the next Parliament. Prof Mills said this when he addressed a rally at Nadowli during his just ended five-day tour of the Upper West Region.

He said in the three-and-a-half years that the New Patriotic Party had been in power; misery and poverty had been the lot of Ghanaians, “compelling many respectable individuals to resort to begging to keep body and soul together”.

He said high prices of items had led to the deterioration in the living standards of many Ghanaians.

Political observers in the Upper West Region see the NPP’s Parliamentary candidate for the constituency, Dr Daniel Bagah, Dean of the Wa Campus of the University for Development Studies as a formidable challenger.

Dr Bagah placed second when he stood as an independent candidate in the 2000 Election.
