Togbui informs Asantehene about celebration of Amu Za festival in Kumasi

Kumasi, Oct. 7, GNA – Togbui Fiti V, paramount chief of the Aflao Traditional Area on Thursday, formally informed the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11, of the celebration of the Amu Za festival of his people for the first time in Ashanti on December 17, this year.

Togbui Fiti, who led a delegation to call on the Asantehene at Manhyia, explained that the festival was an occasion for reconciliation and unity for the people of Anlo decent, resident in Ashanti to plan and initiate development projects to raise their living conditions. He expressed happiness about the strong bond of unity and co-operation existing between Ashantis and the people from the Volta Region and hoped this will continue for generations to come.

The Asantehene also acknowledged the bond of unity and brotherliness existing between Ashantis and the people of the Volta Region and hoped that this would be strengthened to ensure the development of both Ashanti and Volta regions.

Togbui Fugah Mawumefeame, Chief of the Ewe community at Anloga in Kumasi said plans were far advanced to institute a Volta Region Day celebration in Ashanti and Volta regions to help cement the cordial relationship between Ashantis and people of the Volt Region.
