A tiler, Emmanuel Lartey, has appeared before an Accra circuit court for conspiracy to commit crime and robbery.
Emmanuel, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, was remanded by the court to reappear on December 16.
He was said to have conspired with one Issahaku, now at large, and robbed one Sarah Mensah of GH¢ 1,300.00 and mobile phone recharge cards worth GH¢ 194.00 at Kasoa-Tuba.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Martin Acheampong told the court that the complainant, Sarah, is a sales personnel of a cement shop at Kasoa-Tuba Kuwait, while Emmanuel is a tiler who lived at Kasoa New Town.
He said on November 27, at about 1430 hours, the complainant was in her shop when Emmanuel and his accomplice entered.
The prosecution said suddenly, the accused person pulled a locally manufactured pistol and pointed it at the complainant to keep quiet and surrender all her money.
Police Inspector Acheampong said Emmanuel pulled the complainants drawer and took her money in the sum of GH¢ 1,300.00 and mobile phone recharge cards worth GH¢194.00.
He said after the act the two took to their heels amidst firing warning shots but the complainant raised an alarm and they were given a hot chase.
Emmanuel was later arrested by the mob and he was handed over to the police for investigations.
