Three institutions pay tribute to former President Mills

The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) has expressed sorrow and shock over the demise of former President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills.

A statement issued and signed in Accra on Wednesday by the President of the Council, Mr. James Ohemeng Kyei said the Council received the news of the death of the former president with “profound shock”.

The Council remembered the former President of his promise of peaceful elections this year, adding the greatest tribute to pay to the former president was for Ghanaians to collectively ensure peace before, during and after the December elections.

The Council also expressed their condolences to the entire family of the former President.

Meanwhile, the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana, (CLOGSAG) have joined the nation in mourning the late President.

A statement issued and signed by Mr. Isaac Bampoe, Executive Secretary, CLOGSAG, said “at this time when tears are pouring without restraint for losing a committed and great leader and a man of peace, we pray for courage, steadfastness and fortitude for the family and relations, the government and entire nation to withstand the tide”.

In a related development, the National Farmers and Fishermen Award Winners Association Ghana (NFFAWAG) said the death of former President Atta Mills was a great lost to the nation and to farmers and fishermen of Ghana as a whole.

“It is regrettable to note that we have lost a father, a statesman and a brother,” a release signed and issued in Accra on Wednesday by Mr. Philip Abayori, President of the Association noted.**
