THE GHANAIAN VOICE

The Voice says baton-wielding members of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) task force went berserk last Friday morning as they “descended heavily” upon traders at the Novotel Hotel area in Accra and destroyed wares, kiosks, tables and anything that came their way. The paper in its lead front page story under the heading: “Terror Strikes”… As AMA boys go berserk, says at the end of the rampage items destroyed ran into millions of cedis. The items included newspapers, books, iced water, and “koko’. In another front page story the members of the Sekondi District Assembly have asked the government to pay them equal salary as the nation’s parliamentarians. Under the Heading: “Give us MPs’ Pay”…And car loans too, the story says the members also demanded that other facilities such as loans for cars which parliamentarians enjoy should be extended to them.
