The Catholic Church in Nkoranza commended for its social activities

Nkoranza (B/A) Jan. 29 GNA – Mr Jarvis R. Agyeman-Badu, Nkoranza District Director of Education, has commended the Roman Catholic Church for promoting education, health, water and sanitation programmes in the communities.

Mr Agyeman-Badu was addressing teachers and students of Catholic Schools in Nkoranza in the Brong Ahafo Region following the celebration of their annual education week programme.

He expressed appreciation for the Church’s assistance in constructing hospitals, schools, boreholes and places of convenience for the people to help improve their living standards. The District Director urged the teachers to take stock of their activities in the past year and strive to improve their work and build on their successes to set better standards for their schools. He called on them to redouble efforts to improve the standard of education in the District.

Mr Agyeman-Badu advised the students to be disciplined, law abiding and to show respect to their teachers and asked parents to co-operate with teachers to enable them to instil discipline in the students. He expressed the hope that the church would continue with its good works to promote national development.

Mr Bright Owusu, Headmaster of Nkoranza Saint Theresa’s Catholic Junior secondary School, commended the students for undertaking cleanup exercises in the town to promote sanitation.

Mr Owusu gave the assurance that teachers would also do well to help in raising the standard of education in the District.
