Tetteh-Quarshie Interchange Will Not Ease Traffic

JoyOnline — The Assistant Resident Engineer at the Tetteh- Quarshie Interchange Construction site, Seth Atram- Danso has said that the completion of the interchange would not totally ease traffic on the Accra-Adenta road.

He said although the traffic situation in that area could reduce to some extent, but to say that the vehicular traffic problem would be completely solved was untenable, saying, ? I don?t think so?.

Mr Atram-Danso said traffic would only ease when the Tetteh-Quarshie-Mamfe road is expanded.

Mr Atram-Danso said when the project is completed; motorist would still do the turn at the Shiashie end nearer to the Bayview Hotel.

? We expect some amount of inconvenience to still persist?, he said. He explained that motorist and other road users who are coming from Legon towards Accra and vice versa will use the road underneath the bridge.

Mr Atram-Danso further said those from Achimota heading towards Tema and vice versa would go over the bridge, however if motorists are going in any other direction, there are loops to assist them.

He stated for instance that, when one is coming from Tema to Accra, one has to use the loop to the right onto the Liberation road.

There are a great number of people who will have heaped a sigh of relief when they heard that the Tetteh-Quarshie Interchange would be completed soon.

This is because of the heavy vehicular traffic they are made to endure everyday especially during rush hours.
