Tenant and landlord granted 20 million cedis bail

Mankranso (Ash), May 20, GNA- The Mankranso Magistrate Court has granted a tenant and a landlord bail in the sum of 10 million each for causing damage and offensive conduct against each other. Kofi Boadi 35, the tenant was charged for causing damage and the landlord, Ansere Kusi Appiah 68, was arrested for offensive conduct. They both pleaded not guilty and would re-appear on May 29, this year.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Prosper Yao Aheto told the court presided over by Mr Frank Owusu-Afriyie, that on April 17 this year, at about 1800 hrs, the landlord Appiah without any provocation, picked a quarrel with the his tenant, Boadi, and started insulting him saying “God would punish you”.

He said the tenant held his temper and reported the matter to the Tepa police who arrested the landlord but was later granted bail. The landlord in his statement said the quarrel started when he questioned the tenant about a damaged to a veranda of his house. Chief Inspector Aheto said, the tenant was also arrested and after investigation, the two were charged with the counts.
