Teachers urged to stay at home and teach

Ofankor (G/A), Aug. 1, GNA – Mr Samuel Nee Aryeetey Attoh, Member of Parliament (MP) for Trubo-Amasaman Constituency at the weekend appealed to teachers travelling outside for greener pastures to stay to help to raise the standard of education in the country.

Mr Aryeetey Attoh made the appeal when he addressed teachers and guardians of the Yahamah Experimental School at Ofankor in the Greater Accra Region during the school’s first open day.

He noted that the economic growth of the country largely depended on highly educated people both in the rural and urban areas and. Mr Aryeetey Attoh advised parents against using their monies to buy expensive clothes. They should rather spend the money educating their children, especially paying of school fees.

He urged the school children to study hard and be discipline and respectful to their teachers and parents so as to become good future leaders.

Mr Seth Omari Mensah, Proprietor of the school, appealed to the MP to assist the school to get some funds to re-gravel a three-kilometre feeder road that linked the school with Asofa – Ofankor township to facilitate easy transportation of the pupils in the area to the school.
