Ho, April 25, GNA- Mr John Nyoagbe, deputy General Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), on Thursday called on teachers to improve ways of teaching difficult subjects such as Mathematics and Science to make the attractive to students. Mr Nyoagbe made the call at the end of a four-day in-service training workshop for 97 selected primary school teachers in the Volta Region.
It was organized by the Canadian Teachers Federation (CTF) in collaboration with GNAT, to sensitize teachers on the implementation of the New Education Reform.
Madam Hellen McDonald, Leader of the CTF team, commended teachers for contributing to the development of education in the country. Mr Yevoo Pope Yao, Course Prefect for the workshop, asked the Ghana Education Service to organise courses in Information Communication Technology (ICT) courses for teachers. He called for regular workshops for teachers and education supervisors to ensure effective teaching. The participants were taken through subjects including Early Childhood Education Strategies and Methods, English Language and Communication Skills, Primary Mathematics, Primary Science, Citizenship Education and Library/ ICT skills.
