Teachers Asked To Be Role Models

Asamankese (Eastern Region), 8 Oct.,

Teachers have been asked to be role models for their pupils and communities by setting high moral standards, Mr. Emmanuel Asante, West Akyem district chief executive has said. Speaking at the celebration of World Teachers’ day at Asamankese, Mr. Asante said teachers should be dedicated to help raise the standard of education. He called for cost sharing since the expenditure on education is becoming too expensive for the government alone to foot. Mr. Asante said all levies by parent-teacher associations should receive the prior approval of the district assembly since parents are already overburdened. The district chief executive said the assembly is to set up a team to monitor projects being undertaken by PTA’s.
