Teacher remanded for defilement

John Jeremiah Essilfie, a 32-year-old teacher of Methodist Wood Junior High School (JHS) in Takoradi on Wednesday appeared before Takoradi Circuit Court “B” for allegedly defiling a pupil of the school.

His plea was not taken and the Prosecution did not give the facts of the case.

The Court remanded him to re-appear on September 15 and ordered the victim to go to hospital to determine her correct age because the parents could not produce her birth certificate and to produce all medical reports on the case.
