Taxi crash kills Romeoville based Ghanaian.

Source: Sun-Times CHICAGO — A Romeoville man died after the taxi he was driving crashed into a median Saturday morning in the Bronzeville neighborhood.

Richard Owusu, 56, was driving about 9:20 a.m. in the 2500 block of South Wabash Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into a median, police said. No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Owusu, of the 400 block of North Maggie Lane in Romeoville, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he died at 10 a.m., authorities said.

Police said the man may have had a medical event that caused him to crash the vehicle.

An autopsy performed Sunday found Owusu died of multiple injuries he suffered when a taxi cab struck the fixed object, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled an accident.

The police Major Accidents Investigations Unit is investigating.
