Tarkwa and Prestea doctors are not on strike

Tarkwa, Oct 10, GNA – Although the Ghana Medical Association has asked its members to go on strike, doctors at Tarkwa and Prestea Government hospitals are at post.

The Rev Osei Boateng, Administrator at the Tarkwa Government Hospital, told the GNA that since the strike was at its initial stage, doctors at the hospital are working.

He said if doctors across the nation should lay down their tools they would have no alternative then to go by it. Rev Boateng said the doctors should not have resorted to the strike action and that they should put the life of their patients first.

Dr. Mahamadu Mbini waya of the Prestea Government said the hospital serves many communities and that he could not afford to go on strike.
