Tamale: NPP foils attack on party office by members

Executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party in Tamale in the Northern region foiled an attack on the party’s regional office by its own members Thursday evening.

The party members are agitated by the supposed non-appointment of a Dagbani into the cabinet of President Akufo-Addo.

They are accusing the President of giving them a raw deal in spite of their hard work to win the NPP more Parliamentary seats in the Northern region.
A member of the irate supporters Yusif Danjiman told Starr News they will allow not themselves to be taken for granted.

“ With our help and hard work, the NPP managed to win five seats that they have never won here before. And nobody can tell me that there is no Dagbon person who is qualified enough to serve in President Akufo-Addo’s cabinet, so people are disappointed and very aggrieved but we are trying to control ourselves,” he said.

The party is yet to officially comment on the matter.

Meanwhile, in other parts of the country irate party supporters are on rampage invading revenue generating state facilities and asking to be put in control because their government is in power.
